Early Morning Double Shooting Near Beechwood Avenue Following ShotSpotter Alerts, Two Injured
Police are investigating a double shooting that occurred early Saturday morning near Beechwood Avenue after ShotSpotter technology alerted officers to gunfire in the area.
According to preliminary information from authorities, the shooting was reported around 1:10 a.m. when multiple ShotSpotter activations detected gunfire nearby. Officers were immediately dispatched to investigate the alerts and search for possible victims and suspects.
When police arrived at the scene, officers located one victim suffering from gunshot-related injuries. Emergency medical personnel responded and provided treatment before transporting the individual to a nearby hospital for further care.
Authorities later learned that a second victim connected to the shooting had self-transported to a local hospital seeking medical treatment. Officials have not yet released the identities, ages, or medical conditions of either victim.
Investigators spent several hours processing the scene near Beechwood Avenue, collecting shell casings and other evidence while interviewing potential witnesses. Detectives are also reviewing surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses in an effort to determine what led to the violence and identify any suspects involved.
